Frequently asked questions
For customers
What is Jom Lagi?
Jom Lagi is a site where shops give gifts to customers who scan in store. Scan the QR at the counter, leave your mobile number, get a welcome gift on your first visit, and draw a voucher to use next time.
Does it cost anything? Do I need an app?
It's free for customers and there is no app to download. Scan the QR with your phone camera and it opens in your browser.
How do I use a voucher?
At the shop, open "My vouchers" and press "Use now" in front of the staff. Any condition, such as a minimum spend of RM15, is written on the voucher. An expired voucher can't be used.
Can I draw without going to the shop?
At some shops, yes. You can draw one on the shop page before you go. Each number can do this once per shop, and the voucher must be used in store before it expires.
What is my mobile number used for?
It identifies your vouchers and lets us send expiry reminders. The shop where you left your number may contact you on WhatsApp. We don't give your number to other shops and we don't sell lists.
How do I send a voucher to a friend?
After you draw, you can send a friend a gift on WhatsApp. When your friend uses it on their first visit, you receive a thank-you gift.
Where are the voucher rules?
A voucher can only be used at the shop that issued it and is honoured by that shop. The condition and expiry date are written on it. The full rules are at jomlagi.com/rules.
A friend gave me a code. How do I use it?
On your first visit to that shop, tap “A friend sent you?” where you enter your number, then type the code or your friend's phone number to get the friend gift. You can also tap the link in your friend's post to claim it before you go. Only for first-time customers.
Where in Johor Bahru (JB) can I use Jom Lagi?
The home page lists open shops across Johor Bahru. Search by area (Taman Pelangi, Skudai…) or just type "JB" or "Johor Bahru".
How do I see only Halal shops?
Tap the Halal button at the top of the home page and only shops with the Halal badge are listed.
For shop owners
What is a word-of-mouth system?
A way for customers who already came to bring new ones. A customer posts from your shop and gets a post gift on the spot. Friends who see the post come in with the code and get a friend gift. Bring enough friends and the poster gets a bigger reward. The dashboard records who brought whom and from which platform. Jom Lagi is that system, free for your first 300 customers.
Do customers need to spend to get the post gift?
The post gift has no minimum spend, once every 30 days per customer. Whether the friend gift and the friends reward have a condition is up to the owner.
WhatsApp Status lasts 24 hours. Does it still work?
Yes. Each post carries a code and a link. When a friend says the code or taps the link, the dashboard records it. How many friends each platform brought and who brings the most are on one page.
Is there a free loyalty or repeat-customer tool for shops?
Yes. With Jom Lagi the first 300 customers who visit your shop are free, and every feature included. Customers scan a QR and leave a number, get a welcome gift on the spot, draw a voucher for their next visit, and can send one to a friend. You only give the friend's gift once the friend comes in. Shops that already have POS loyalty points can use it alongside. After that it is RM990 a year for unlimited customers.
My POS already has points and membership. Do I still need Jom Lagi?
Keep your points, there is nothing to switch. Points reward customers who are already spending with you. Jom Lagi does one more thing: a customer sends a friend voucher, and you only give the gift once the friend actually comes in. The two work side by side: your POS tracks spending and points, and the Jom Lagi QR sits on the counter for customers to scan themselves. Try it with the 300 free customers, see how many new customers the friend vouchers bring, then decide whether to keep it.
How do I get regulars to bring in new customers?
Give them something easy to do and a reason to do it. With Jom Lagi, after drawing a voucher a customer can send a friend voucher by WhatsApp. When the friend comes in for the first time and uses it, the sender gets a thank-you gift. If the friend never comes, you give nothing. You set how many friends each customer can send to and the monthly limit for the whole shop.
Is there a digital stamp card that needs no app?
Yes. Jom Lagi is a web page. Customers scan a QR and use it straight away, with nothing to install. On their 6th and 10th visits they automatically receive a regulars' reward.
Are reminders or WhatsApp messages charged per message?
No. Voucher expiry reminders go out as phone notifications at no charge. If you want to message a customer yourself, the dashboard writes the message and it goes out from your own WhatsApp, also at no charge.
How are the 300 free customers counted?
Every number that scanned in your shop or used a voucher there, added up from the day you open. People who drew online or claimed a friend voucher but have not come yet do not count, nor does a second number on the same phone. After 300 there are 14 more days as usual; then new draws and friend vouchers pause and resume as soon as you pay. New customers still get the welcome gift, every voucher given is honoured and your shop page stays open.
Which shops is it suited to?
Shops whose customers come back: cafes, restaurants, mamak, bubble tea, bakeries, hair, nails, beauty, massage, pet shops, car washes. It doesn't help a business people use once or twice a year, such as property, weddings or renovation.
How is it different from a paper stamp card?
Paper cards get lost and the shop never knows who holds one. Jom Lagi keeps a customer list, reminds customers before a voucher expires, and lets them send a voucher to a friend, which brings in new customers.
Will I lose money giving things away?
Every reward has a condition, such as a minimum spend of RM15, so the customer buys first. Aim to keep the reward's cost at 10% to 15% of that spend. A next-visit voucher is only used when the customer comes back and spends.
Can halal shops use it?
Yes. Cafes and restaurants can enter their JAKIM or state religious authority certificate number, and the Halal mark appears after we check it. The home page can be filtered to show only shops with the Halal mark.
Who owns the customer list?
The shop does, and it can be exported from the dashboard at any time. We don't use your customers to promote other shops.
How long does setup take? Do staff need training?
About 5 minutes: enter the shop name and address, pick a ready-made set of rewards, and download the QR and print kit. Staff only need one line: "Scan this, today you get ___, and there's more next time." It is printed on the back of the counter stand. After that customers scan by themselves and press "Use now" in front of the staff.
Is it only for shops in Johor Bahru?
A shop anywhere can sign up and use it. The home directory currently lists mostly Johor Bahru shops.
How is it priced for several outlets?
Each outlet is RM490 a year. For 6 or more, contact us for a quote. Each outlet has its own QR, list and vouchers, and vouchers can't be used across outlets. From the second outlet there is no free allowance; you get a 14-day trial after opening.
The shop next door uses Jom Lagi too. Can they see my customers?
No. Each shop sees only its own list. The same customer at two shops is two separate records.
Can takeaway and delivery customers take part?
Yes. The dashboard can generate one-time draw cards. Put one in each bag and the customer scans it to draw a voucher for next time.
How does a shop get into the home directory?
There is nothing to apply for. Once 5 different customers have scanned in the shop within 30 days, on more than one day, it is listed automatically. If nobody scans for 30 days it is taken off; the shop page and QR are not affected.
Can I get a refund after paying?
Yes, in full within 7 days of paying. Just tell us on WhatsApp. After 7 days there is no refund, and no refund for unused months. Before you pay, your first 300 customers are free, so you can use it until you are sure.
Can I get an invoice?
Yes. toyyibPay emails a receipt after you pay. If you need an invoice, WhatsApp us with the name and address to put on it.
My regulars get something every visit. Won't I keep losing money?
You decide what to give. The templates default to add-ons, upgrades and small bites costing RM1 to RM3, each with a condition (e.g. spend RM15, weekdays only). Every prize can have a monthly limit. A next-visit voucher is only used when the customer comes back and spends. Prizes on the wheel are worth about the same, and a bigger gift goes in the gift for regulars. The prize step shows roughly how much you give per customer per visit.
I'm not good with this. Can you set it up for me?
Yes. Pasting your Google Maps link fills in the name, address and hours, and most owners finish in 5 minutes. If you would rather not, WhatsApp us: for a one-off fee we open the shop, set the prizes and deliver the printed stand.
Can I refer a friend who has a shop?
Yes. Your own link is on the Payment page of the dashboard. A friend who opens a shop from it gets 25 more free customers. When 5 customers have scanned in their shop, you get 50 more free customers; if you already pay, your year is extended by 2 months.
Can I put a big prize on the wheel?
Everyone wins on the wheel, and the prizes on it must be worth about the same: the most expensive can cost at most twice the cheapest, and the system checks this when you save. To give something bigger, put it in the gift for regulars, which is given on the 6th and 10th visit.
What does customer referral mean here?
A customer introduces a new customer. Jom Lagi makes it three steps: a customer posts in store and gets a post gift, a friend sees it and comes in for the friend gift, and when enough friends come the poster gets a bigger reward. At every step you only give when the other person really did it.
Is there a contract? Can I stop renewing?
No contract. You pay a year at a time and decide whether to renew. If you stop, the customer list stays and can be exported; new draws and friend vouchers pause, and vouchers already given are still honoured.
What if someone claims a gift without really posting?
The post gift is claimed in front of staff, who check three things on the phone: it is visible, it shows the shop name, and it was posted today. One per person every 30 days (you can change that), so your cost is the one gift you set.
What if a customer posts and nobody comes?
The post gift is only given when the customer really posted, and the friend gift only when the friend comes in and uses it. If nobody comes you have spent one post gift. The dashboard funnel shows where people drop off: shop page opened, started a post, shared, took the post gift, friend claimed, friend came in.
Will a Xiaohongshu post get limited?
Xiaohongshu is strict about outside links, QR codes and posts with offers, and reach is never guaranteed. So the Xiaohongshu image has no QR, its text has no link, and the gift is written in the text with a note that the shop gave it. WhatsApp Status and Facebook links open with one tap, so we suggest posting on several platforms.
Can I use it without a Google Business Profile?
Yes. The Google Maps link and place ID are optional. With them, opening hours fill in automatically and customers see a "Write a Google review" button after using a voucher.
Can I use it without a POS? Do I need to switch systems?
Yes, and no switch needed. Jom Lagi is a web page and does not connect to a POS. Customers scan the QR themselves and staff look at the voucher. If you have a POS, use both.
How is it different from Facebook ads?
Ads charge for views or clicks whether or not anyone comes. With Jom Lagi the friend gift is only given when the friend uses it in store, for a flat RM990 a year. You can use both.
How is it different from a WhatsApp broadcast?
A broadcast reaches people who already know you. Jom Lagi lets customers show your shop to their own friends, who do not know you yet.
How do I use it to get customers for a new shop?
In the first weeks, put the stand on the counter and ask every customer to post for the post gift, so their friends see you. Offer a reward worth having for bringing enough friends. Your first 300 customers are free.
Does it work for nail and hair shops that take bookings?
Yes. Customers post a before and after photo after their visit and friends come to book. Write the next-visit voucher as "use on your next booking" and remind customers before it expires.
